Blondie’s time to ‘Panic’

Fans of the 70’s band, Blondie, led by the creative platinum-haired force that is Deborah Harry, will be thrilled to hear there is a new album destined for release. Panic Of Girls, Blondie’s ninth studio album, is set to drop September 13, the first new music from Debbie Harry and company since 2003’s The Curse of Blondie.

But that’s not all. Blondie will be celebrating their latest effort with a short but sweet one-month tour across North America starting in the same month. Key stops include House of Blues in Chicago, 2 nights in NYC at the HighLine Ballroom, Austin City Limits Live at the The Moody Theater in Austin, and Club Nokia in L.A., just to name a few. Check out Blondie’s official website for the full tour roster.

Blondie is taking most of the original band on the road, including, of course, Deborah Harry, Clem Burke and Chris Stein. Rounding out the band are the newer arrivals — bassist Leigh Foxx, keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen, and guitarist Tommy Kessler. Don’t  miss a chance to see them live!

Blondie kicked off her tour with Pat Benatar and the Donnas earlier this month, with some solo shows in the mix.

An extension of the “Call Me Invincible” tour, both Blondie and Benatar are celebrating their 30th anniversaries.  Blondie released “Parallel Lines,” which included “Heart of Glass,” and Benatar put out “In the Heat of the Night,” which brought her the hot hit “Heartbreaker.”

This girl-power tour de force has gotten rave reviews thus far, and the tour is only getting better.
